Uber Inspections & Car Servicing in Dandenong

Rideshare vehicle inspections, Uber car servicing and taxi servicing, built around your shifts, because every hour off the road is an hour not earning.

What's Involved

Servicing planned around your shifts.

Rideshare and taxi cars rack up kilometres far faster than private cars, and most of them are hard ones: short trips, heavy traffic and plenty of idling. Our rideshare car service is planned for that, with the parts that wear fastest checked every visit.

Scheduled Servicing

Tighter service intervals reflecting the higher kilometres a rideshare or taxi vehicle covers. See what a logbook service includes.

Brakes & Tyres

The two systems that wear fastest under constant stop-start city driving, checked every visit.

Fluids

Oil, coolant and transmission fluid kept on top of a demanding, high-hours duty cycle.

Diagnostics

Faults picked up early, before they turn into an unplanned day off the road.

Inspections & Roadworthies

The yearly rideshare inspection and roadworthy certificates, arranged with licensed vehicle testers alongside your servicing.

Need a car to keep driving while yours is in the workshop? Our rental partner, Subhan Rental Services in Dandenong South, has Uber-ready rental cars, set up for Uber and DiDi; minimum hire is one month, with shorter hires by arrangement.

Rideshare Inspections

What is the yearly rideshare vehicle inspection?

In Victoria, a car used for booked rideshare work such as Uber is registered as a commercial passenger vehicle, and every commercial passenger vehicle must be inspected every 12 months. For a booked-only car, Safe Transport Victoria says the inspection must be done by a VicRoads Licensed Vehicle Tester or by Redbook, its approved tester, and you must be able to show proof of the pass when asked (an electronic copy is fine). A car that is 12 months or older when it is registered as a commercial passenger vehicle needs a roadworthy or approved inspection from the last 12 months, then one every year. We arrange the inspection through a licensed vehicle tester, the same way we arrange roadworthy certificates, and anything that needs fixing to pass, such as brakes, tyres or lights, can be repaired at our Dandenong workshop.

Why It Matters

Why rideshare cars need closer attention

Constant stop-start driving is tough on brakes, tyres and engine oil, and long hours at idle add engine wear without adding kilometres on the odometer. That's why many manufacturers list a severe-use service schedule, and why a rideshare car often needs servicing sooner than its owner expects. For Uber, taxi and other rideshare cars, it makes sense to plan services by kilometres rather than months, using the logbook interval or the severe-use schedule if your handbook lists one. At our Dandenong workshop each service follows that schedule, and the parts that wear fastest on shift work, such as brake pads, tyres and fluids, are checked every visit. Finding worn pads or uneven tyre wear at a booked service is easier to plan around than a breakdown in the middle of a shift. Saturday appointments are available alongside weekday hours if weekdays are your busiest time on the road.

Regular servicing also keeps a record of the work, which helps at resale. A rideshare car usually goes to sale with high kilometres, and a complete service history makes it easier to sell.

Signs to Watch For

When to book in before your next shift

Service due on the dash or sticker

At rideshare kilometres, the next service comes around fast. Booking it when the reminder appears costs less than a breakdown mid-shift.

Squealing or grinding brakes

Stop-start city driving wears pads and rotors quickly. A squeal is often the wear indicator, and grinding can mean metal on metal.

A warning light

Engine, brake or transmission lights are worth checking early. A scan finds the fault before it becomes an unplanned day off the road.

Tyres wearing unevenly

Uneven wear shortens tyre life and can point to alignment or suspension problems. Our tyres and wheels service covers replacement and condition checks.

Aircon not keeping up

Passengers notice a warm cabin straight away. If the air isn't as cold as it was, book a car air conditioning check before summer.

Common Questions

Rideshare and taxi servicing questions

How often should an Uber car be serviced?

Go by kilometres rather than months. Use your manufacturer's logbook interval, and the severe-use schedule if your handbook lists one, because constant stop-start driving and idling counts as hard use. We can help you work out which schedule suits your car.

Will servicing with you keep my new car's warranty valid?

Under Australian Consumer Law you don't need to use a dealer for scheduled servicing, as long as the work follows the manufacturer's schedule with suitable parts. Our logbook service page explains how we do it.

Can you do my roadworthy at the same time?

Yes. Where a roadworthy certificate is also due, we can coordinate it alongside your regular service so it's one trip instead of two.

Are you open on Saturdays?

Yes. We're open Saturday 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM by appointment only, as well as Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, which helps if weekdays are your busiest shifts.

Do you do Uber and rideshare vehicle inspections?

Yes. We arrange the yearly inspection Victoria requires for rideshare cars through a VicRoads Licensed Vehicle Tester, and we can book it alongside a service so the car makes one trip. Call 03 8774 5785 or book online.

Do you service taxis as well as rideshare cars?

Yes. We service taxis and rideshare cars, whichever platform you drive for. If you run more than one car, call us on 03 8774 5785 to talk about scheduling.
