Hybrid & EV Repairs in Dandenong
Hybrids and electric cars still need brakes, tyres, servicing and, sometimes, accident repairs. We work on them at our Dandenong workshop and recalibrate driver-assist cameras and sensors after repairs, so the car comes back working as it should.
What We Do
Hybrid and electric car work at our workshop
A hybrid or EV is still a car underneath: it has brakes, suspension, steering, tyres, air-con and a 12-volt battery that can go flat. What's different is the high-voltage system, regenerative braking, and the extra sensors many newer cars carry. Repairs near those parts need the maker's procedures followed, and that's how we approach them.
Servicing
Hybrid and EV servicing to the maker's schedule, including brakes, tyres, coolant, filters and the 12-volt battery. See logbook servicing.
Mechanical and electrical repairs
Brakes, suspension, steering, air-con and 12-volt auto electrical faults.
Accident repairs
Panel, paint and structural repairs on hybrids and EVs in our own workshop and spray booth. See smash repairs.
ADAS recalibration
Cameras and radar sensors recalibrated after repairs, so lane, collision and parking systems work as intended.
Driver-Assist Systems
Why recalibration matters after a crash
Many cars now have a camera behind the windscreen and radar sensors in the bumpers, grille or mirrors. They feed features like automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping, adaptive cruise control and blind-spot warnings. A sensor that's a few degrees out after a repair may still switch on, but look at the wrong part of the road.
That's why recalibration is part of the repair rather than an extra. We check which systems a repair has disturbed and recalibrate them before you drive away. If a warning light about a driver-assist system comes on after any repair, have it checked.
Common Questions
Hybrid, EV and ADAS questions
Do you repair hybrid and electric cars?
Yes. We service and repair hybrid and electric cars, and repair accident damage on them, at our workshop at 5 Quinn Street, Dandenong.
What is ADAS recalibration?
ADAS (advanced driver-assistance systems) are the cameras and radar sensors behind features like lane-keeping, collision warning, adaptive cruise and parking sensors. After repairs that disturb those parts, such as a new bumper or grille, the sensors can point slightly off. Recalibration lines them up again so the systems react as the maker intended.
Does my car need recalibration after a repair?
If the repair involved parts that carry a camera or sensor, it often does. We check this as part of the repair and recalibrate where the car needs it, before you collect it.
Does a hybrid or EV need servicing?
Yes. EVs have no engine oil, but brakes, tyres, suspension, coolant, cabin filters and the 12-volt battery still need checking, and hybrids also have a petrol engine to service. Follow the maker's schedule in your logbook.
Can you repair a hybrid or EV after a not-at-fault accident?
Yes. We handle not-at-fault claims end to end for hybrids and EVs too: towing arranged 24/7, dealing with the at-fault driver's insurer, the repair, and a replacement car once the claim paperwork is finalised and your car is dropped off.
